Here at Summer Place, we are proud to be considered as one of the best bath suppliers in South Africa. We offer only the highest quality products, and have been told that our services cannot be faulted. Each and every bath tub we sell is elegant and beautiful, and really adds a touch of luxury to the bathroom.
There are, however, some bath suppliers and individuals who have too much time and money on their hands! With bath suppliers selling tubs worth millions of Rand, it makes you wonder how much people really value their bathrooms. The social areas are generally considered to be the most popular parts of the house, and thus the best decorated and furnished. So, if people are spending that much money on their bathrooms, what is the rest of their house like?
Here is a list of the five most expensive bath tubs in the world. Each of them are spectacular in their own way, but we will leave it down to you to decide whether they are worth the price.
5. Baldi Amethyst Bathtub – approximately R1,097,074
At number 5, we have the Baldi Amethyst Bathtub. Carved from a large amethyst crystal, this bathtub has a fantastic colour, and would look perfect in any bathroom. It is, however, incredibly expensive – but the cheapest one on our list! So what do you get for the price?
Amethyst itself isn’t a particularly expensive crystal. It is common and easy to get hold of, although a crystal of this size would be an impressive sight! This bath comes with a set of three matching accessories; a soap dish, tumbler, and lotion dispenser. What a bargain! On top of all this, the bath has legs made of 24 carat gold, and the accessories also have 24 carat gold included in them.
4. Baldi Malachite Bathtub – approximately R1,810,353
At number 4, the Baldi Malachite Bathtub is a stunning creation. Made from pure turquoise malachite, the colouring is superb, and hard to beat. It has been designed by Italian luxury designer Luca Bojola, and is a smooth boat shaped piece. With 24 carat gold claw feet, it truly is an elegant piece.
3. Baldi Rock Crystal Bathtub – approximately R7,153,701
The Baldi Rock Crystal Bathtub comes in at number 3…have you noticed the pattern?! Whilst not technically bath suppliers, Baldi is a luxury Italian interior design company. Luca Bojola is one of their top designers, and has created all three of the baths on this list so far.
The Rock Crystal Bathtub is a bath supplier’s dream…and possibly also a nightmare! It is certainly not for everyone; with its almost sci-fi, space age design. It is one of only three pieces, and each has been created from the same 10 tonne Amazonian crystal. With diamond cuts and partially rough edges, it is a completely astounding piece.
2. Golden Bathtub – approximately R8,934,093
When reading a list of the top most expensive items in the world, everyone is expecting the golden one – well here it is! At almost R9 million, the Golden Bathtub was sold by bath suppliers to the Kominato Hotel in Japan, where it was held as one of the main attractions. It was open for hotel guests to use for just a few hours each day, for security reasons. Made from solid gold and weighing around 176 pounds, someone still managed to steal it from the hotel…the question is, how?
1. Le Grand Queen – approximately R15,388,002
At number 1, we have an unforgettable beauty. Le Grand Queen is carved from gem stone called Caijou, which is so rare that the location of the source is being kept a big secret. This gem stone is believed to have healing properties and has been used by different ancient civilisations.
It has been crafted in the shape of an Indonesian canoe called a “banka”, and was designed by Simon Krapf. The colour is incredibly natural, and looks almost like it has been carved from wood. It is a piece that bath suppliers would find so easy to sell, if it weren’t for the price!
Summer Place
As bath suppliers we offer a lot of incredible beauties. If you would like a bathtub that is going to add elegance and sophistication to your room, then we are certainly the bath suppliers for you – and our prices are but a fraction of those listed above!
