The expertise and the knowledge of the Jacuzzi brothers that was used to make hydraulic aircraft pumps were redirected. The family then received awards and prestige for their innovation in the technology of the first submersible water pump for agriculture.

This was due to the fact that his son was diagnosed with Rheumatoid arthritis and the hydrotherapy would assist with the symptoms. His son received hydrotherapy treatments at the local hospital but Candido could not stand to see him in constant pain therefore he brought the hydrotherapy home for his son. This pump was the first submersible pump that could change any bath tub into an effective hydrotherapy tool. The Jacuzzi whirlpool bath tub was marketed in 1955 as a therapeutic aid and was sold in drug stores and bath supplies stores across America. A new era in whirlpool bath technology was born which has paved the way in which hydrotherapy is experienced today.
In the 1970's the larger Jacuzzi were developed to be able to accommodate larger groups of people. These whirlpool baths incorporated both heating and filtration systems to keep the water clean and heated with less effort than before. These hit tubs were unique as they enabled the ordinary family to have a relaxing spa experience right at home.
